How to organize so many shoes?

Siempre llegamos de la oficina o de fiesta y lo primero que hacemos es aventarlos porque queremos llegar directamente al sofá o a la cama. Al momento de querer recogerlos del piso, los intercalas dónde haya espacio, los empalmas o los vuelves a aventar. ¿Qué tal si mejor armamos un mini clóset para zapatos con cosas reutilizables como estas cajas de madera típicas del mercado de frutas?

When we always get back from the office or party, we just throw our shoes because we just want to hit our bed or sofa. Buuuut when we decide to pick them up, we go into our closet and look where to put them: either on an empty space or just throw them once again. What if we do a mini closet for shoes with re-utilizable stuff such as these boxes that you can find in any market?

Barniz / Pintura (mpermeabilizante es opcional)

Primero que nada hay que encontrar un espacio donde acomodar nuestro mini clóset. Después de conseguir estas cajas (pueden ir a cualquier super mercado o mini mercado), las puedes pintar del color que más te guste; pueden ser todas del mismo tono o de diferentes con spray o barniz. Y si quieres darle un acabado brilloso, puedes barnizarlas. Luego acomódalas como más te gusten, vertical y horizontal o revueltas. 

Por  último, acomoda tus zapatos ya sea por color o por estilo pero lo que definitivamente no pueden faltar son tus ¡Lolys! ♥

Materials:

Boxes

Paint (waterproof is optional)

Brush

Spray

Nails and Hammer

First of all, you need to find a space where to do your mini closet. Then, after finding these boxes (you can go to any super market or mini market), you can paint them with your favorite colors either the tone or different (with spray or just a bucket of paint). If you want a shiny look, you can add a high gloss coat. After that, you can go ahead and arrange the boxes vertically, horizontally, or you can even do a mix.

Last but not least, you can organize your shoes by color or type but definitely you can't miss your Lolys! ♥

Si lo vieramos como un cuento, todo empieza desde la creatividad e imaginación de nuestra diseñadora (Lorena Vázquez) y las plasma en su famoso libro de bocetos... Después, lo mejor está por venir pero preferimos no contarles sino enseñarles este pequeño video dónde se muestra la magia de Loly in the Sky. Aunque está en inglés,  para que pudieran entendernos todas nuestras Loly Girls alrededor del mundo (El video se mandó a Japón, Arabia Saudita, Canadá y Estados Unidos) queremos compartirlo con ustedes que son el corazón de Loly in the sky.

Looking back at how this dream came true, we thought it would be nice to share this amazing video with our Loly girls around the world.  It's a small peak into Mexican craftmanship making beautiful shoes for you! 

If it were a fairy-tale, it would have started start with our amazing designer (Lorena Vazquez) as a girl who captures incredible illustrations in her diary as she lets her creativity and imagination flow.  Then, the best thing is yet to come…but we won’t tell you.  We’ll let you watch this video and experience the magic for yourself!

Loly Tip: ¿Cómo organizar tu clóset en 5 pasos? / How to organize your closet in 5 steps?

El típico problema de toda mujer: ¿cómo organizo mi clóset? ó ¡Nunca me cabe nada!
Tooooodas pero toooodas hemos pasado por este problema y toooodas quisieramos el clóset de Mariah Carey (¿se acuerdan de MTV Cribs?) así de organizado y de buen tamaño. Claro que se vale soñar pero aterrizando a lo que tenemos, Stylecaster nos da 5 pasos súper fáciles para organizar nuestro clóset y que quede muuuuy Loly.

Every woman's problem:  How do I organize my closet? or Nothing fits!
Everyone but eeeeeveryone has had this problem and we all want Mariah's (remember MTV Cribs?) all organized and great size.  Obviously we all have dreams but knowing what we have, Stylecaster has given us 5 easy steps to organize our closet and leave it pretty Loly.

1. Editaaaaar. / Edit.
Lo principal es hacer limpia de toooodo lo que no uses y que no has usado dentro de un año. No, no guardes cosas pensando que "algún día regresarán como ese pantalón de mezclilla acampanado" porque la verdad es que los cortes de las prendas cambian de acuerdo a la moda y los años. Además, ¿para qué guardar las prendas por más de 5 años cuando puedes comprar poca ropa al año y darle hasta el último uso? Las cosas que ya no quieras y estén en buen uso, regalalas a asociaciones o a gente que más lo necesita.
The very first thing is to make an inventory of your clothing and choose what you really need and let go the clothes that you haven't used over a year. Why keep clothes that you haven't used in 5 years and still waiting to use them as retro or vintage? A big no no. Fashion moves pretty quickly and also the cuts. The pile of stuff you are letting go, give them to an association or someone that really needs it.

2. Ganchos. /  Hangers.
¡Sí! ¡Ganchos!. Nadie le da importancia pero es una clave súper importante para mantener todo en orden, nivelado y sobre todo escoger los que más te convengan: unos para faldas con clips, otros para pantalones que puedas colgar hasta 5 en uno y los típicos blancos pero lo ideal serían los delgados para poder colgar más.
Yup! Hangers! No one gives them importance but its a key to keep everything in order. You need to choose a special hanger for each type of clothing: with clips for skirts, a 5 line hanger for jeans or trousers and the typical white (it's recommended to use the slim ones since it saves space).

3. Código de Color. / Color Code.
Lo más importante de este paso es: MANTENERLO.
Se recomienda poner prenda con prenda, es decir, faldas con faldas, camisas con camisas, vestidos con vestidos etc. Después, organizar por color: de claro a obscuro y de izquierda a derecha (el ojo lo hace naturalmente). Y si tienes prendas con estampados, ponlos con la tonalidad que más se le parezca.
The most important thing on this step is to KEEP IT.
We recommend to organize per type like skirts with skirts, dresses with dresses, and blouses with blouses, etc. Theeeen, organize per color: light to dark and from left to right. If you have any prints, put them with the solid color that most resembles.

4. El doblado. / Perfect-folded stacks.
Igual que el color, posiblemente este sea el más dificil de mantener porque empiezas doblando y acomodando y todo termina por doquier; aparte que cada cosa la doblamos diferente de acuerdo a las ganas que tenemos. ¿No sería más fácil comprarnos un doblador de suéters como lo tienen en las tiendas?
Pues sí. De igual manera debemos de mantener los colores, el tipo de prenda y temporada.
Same as color, this probably is the most hard to keep since you start folding and getting everything in order and then one thing gets to another and then you find it on another pile etc. We also fold depending on the mood; shouldn't be easier if we buy a 'sweater fold'? Actually yes! We should also keep colors, type of clothing and season per pile.

5. Zapatos. / Shoes.
Si tienes clóset chico, definitivamente no uses cajas: ocupa demasiado espacio peeeero si tienes clóset de buen tamaño, podrías comprar cajas de plástico y tomarle foto y ponerla de modo a que se vea y puedas identificar qué par hay adentro. Pero volviendo a lo otro, puedes acomodar tus zapatos en fila, de sandalia a tacón o de Lolys a Lolys ♥.
If you have a small closet, please avoooooid shoe boxes since it uses alot of space! But if you have a good size closet, then you can buy plastic shoe boxes and put a photo of your shoe so you can remember what pair is inside. But getting back to what we were talking, you could line up  your shoes from sandals to heels or Lolys to Lolys. ♥

¿Listas para el 'makeover' de su clóset? / Ready for your closet makeover?

¡MANI DAY! ♥

Denia Martinez crea este look para tus uñas inspirado en nuestros tenis MONIQUE. Como toda una Loly...¡Siempre sabe cómo mezclar nuestros colores favoritos: el blanco y el negro! ♥

¡Disfruta tus Lolys con este lindo mani!

Pasos:

1. Aplica una capa (o dos, si tu quieres) de esmalte blanco en todas las uñas como base, excepto en una uña dónde la base será color negro.
2. Trabajarás primero sobre las uñas con base blanca. Iniciando en la punta de las uñas, irás poniendo puntos negros agrupados y conforme vayas ascendiendo el degradado, dejas más espacio entre los puntos.
3. Ahora en la uña con base negra, haces la misma indicación de la instrucción anterior, con la diferencia que ahora los puntos serán con esmalte blanco.
4. Por último, aplica una base protectora de brillo para una larga duración.

NOTA: los puntos los puedes hacer con cualquier instrumento que tenga la punta redonda, como una pluma sin tinta o incluso con ¡un palillo de dientes!

MANI DAY! ♥ 

Denia Martinez (our fave Mani Loly Girl) creates this look inspired by our MONIQUE sneakers. Just like a Loly girl...always knows how to mix and match our fave colors: black and white!    

Apply this easy and simple Mani to go with your Monique!

Steps:

1. Apply a white base coat (or 2, as you wish) in all your nails, except one in which the base coat will be black.
2. You will first work on the white base coated nails. With a black nail polish, start dotting the tip of your nail and as you ascend, leave more space between the dots.
3. Now, in the black base coat nail, follow the same instructions indicated in step #2, with the only difference that you will use white nail polish for the dots.
4. Finally, use a top coat for long lasting duration.

NOTE: for the dot making, you could use anything with a rounded tip, for example a pen without ink or even a toothpick!

Pasos:
1. Aplica esmalte rosa claro como base.
2. Haz un círculo rojo en la parte superior de la uña.
3. Haz un círculo negro más pequeño como la cabeza.
4. Termina dibujando la línea central y los puntitos negros del cuerpo.
¡No olvides los ojos! Esos dos puntitos blancos sobre la cabeza.
5. Repite estos pasos cuantas veces quieras y ¡dibuja las catarinas que desees!
6. Recuerda aplicar una capa de brillo al final para una mayor duración.

We love nail tutorials and Denia Martinez sent us this lovely Mani that you will love.

Advice from your Loly Ladybugs: Spot new opportunities and don’t let small things bug you. 

Apply this easy and simple Mani to go with your Claire Lolys!

Steps:
1. Apply a pale pink base coat.
2.  Do a red circle in the upper part of the nail.
3. Do a smaller black circle for the head.
4. End by drawing the center line for the body and the black dots.
Don’t forget the eyes! Those two small white dots over the head.
5.  Repeat these steps and draw as many ladybugs as you want!
6.  Remember to apply a top coat for long lasting nails.

What a feeling!

The first shoe samples for Loly in the sky are finally ready

I cannot begin to describe how this feels , as always the best feelings are those that have no words to describe them...

Here´s to that feeling and Here´s to the wonderful women that will write the story of their lives not letting anyone else hold the pen and will choose to wear these lovely shoes to waltz through life like goddesses!

Remedy against uncertainty

New city, new everything... there are moments where all this uncertainty can make my head spin. But It´s funny how a pair of beautiful shoes can always make me feel so good in my head — at the extreme opposite end of my body.

There´s lots to be done so I´m putting me and my heels in charge!
